We’re so glad you’re here!

Who We Are

Here at Friendship, we believe that God’s love is bigger than the labels and boxes that often define us. We are a Jesus following, justice-seeking, transforming community, working on intentionally deepening our faith by nurturing our spiritual growth towards an anti-racist identity as we build relationships with each other, our communities, and God.

We welcome your whole self - your age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation; your emotional, mental, spiritual and physical self — all of your story and all of you!

\We know every aspect of every person is lovingly made in the image of God.

What We Believe

Friendship is a place of community where we honor and cultivate our connections to God, to each other and to creation. Friendship is where we understand our own stories in light of God’s story of abundance and liberation. Friendship, following in the way of Jesus, is a place of compassion where we honor grief, cultivate hope and create spaces for healing. Where we tell the story of death and resurrection, not as a source of shame but as a promise that love will always overcome evil.

Friendship is a place where we create and play together, where we engage in the arts, including culinary, visual, musical and sacred arts. Friendship is a place where we celebrate one another and cultivate belonging, inclusion and accessibility.

Friendship is an open & affirming congregation. This means we commit to listening and celebrating the ways folks share who they are and how they want to be called. We pay particular attention to names and pronouns people use . When we make mistakes, we commit to apologizing, correcting ourselves, and moving forward. We are also committed to creating gatherings that are accessible, inclusive, and courageous both virtually and in person.

Worship at Friendship

We gather for worship every Sunday at 10am CST. We invite you to join us exactly as you are in person or online! We ensure that our online participants get just as full and immersive of an experience as our in person participants. Joining us online is a great way to dip your toes in at Friendship! We send out the link for worship in our weekly newsletter, which you can sign up for below.

As a member of the PC(USA), we follow a reformed arc of worship, but have made it our own. We write original liturgy every week and work to choose hymns that speak to the themes of each service. Our Worship Team loves to get creative for each liturgical season, and you can usually find us collaborating on some sort of art installation!
